Porcelain laminate veneers are wafer thin shells of porcelain ceramic material which are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth. Porcelain veneers can be used to mask discolouration, brighten teeth, change the shape and arrangement of teeth and repair broken/worn teeth.

Veneers are highly resistant to permanent staining and since only 0.5-1mm needs to be prepared from the front of the tooth, they are a much more conservative approach to traditional crowns to improve the smile.

For some patients who want a dramatic smile makeover achieved within a short period of time, they can be an alternative to orthodontic treatment (“braces”).

Case 1 - before

This patient attended the practice requesting lighter colored teeth,in addition she had some old poorly contoured composite veneers on her canine("eye") teeth

The teeth were whitened using daily home bleaching, this took 15 days.Note that the existing veneers on the canines have not lightened.
Case 1 - after
The canine teeth were prepared and porcelain laminate veneers were fitted. Here is the final smile.

Here are close up shots of the final veneers on the canine teeth, note that they are virtually indescernable from natural teeth and there are no dark lines around the gum margin.
Case 2 - before

Adam attended the practice,he was unhappy with the shape, size and colour of his upper front teeth.
Case 2 - after

The upper ten teeth were prepared and 10 "Durathin" porcelain laminate veneers placed giving him a "HollyWood" smile.
