We are proud of our Practice. This ranges from the environment and facilities to the performance of a well trained and experience team. It takes continual effort and careful planning to keep standards up to your expectations.

We consider it a cornerstone of the Practice that continual staff training, re-equipping and keeping up to date with current techniques and materials is addressed. Both dentists, in their own areas of interest, make a conscious effort to attend Post-graduate conferences and seminars both here and abroad.

Postgraduate Education and Staff Training in 2005
Jeremy Harris organises and attends evening study club talks for the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) throughout the region (Devon, Cornwall, Somerset). These are usually every 2-3 months.

Jason Smithson has commenced a 6 month hands on practical composite course. The Ab Initio course is a modular course spread over several months that covers in depth, the principles of advanced modern, restorative dentistry.

March 2005– Olivia and Sharon attended weekend Conscious Sedation Course at London’s St Bart’s hospital.

April 2005 -Dresden – Dentsply Friadent International Symposium on Implant dentistry, 2 day conference covering latest techniques and ideas.

May 2005 – Edinburgh – Practice Team attends this 3 day International Symposium attracting the cream of the worlds clinicians and equipment suppliers involved in Implant dentistry. 3 days of lectures in 3 lecture theatres, covering Dental Implantology from all aspects for dentists, hygienists and technicians and support staff.

September 2005 – European Association of Osseointegration, Munich. 2 day conference on Implant dentistry and regeneration of tissues.

October 2005 – Jeremy and Jason attend the BAAD (British Association of Aesthetic Dentistry) conference in London- a three day event.

November 2005 – Keri sits her National Examination for Dental Nurses certificate.
Practice Team attends a course in Infection Control.

January 2006 – Keri passes her Dental Nursing examinations.

April 2006 - Whole Practice attend annual CPR training.

Jan/June 2006 - Jason attending "Ab Initio" 'Hands On' course in bonded restorations.

June 2006 - Sharon studying for Dental Radiography Certificate - Jason attending World Aesthetic Congress

July 2006 - Jason attending 'Hands On' course in composite resin in Italy.

September 2006 - Jason attending course about 'Smile Design' by Chris Orr, the President of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

November 2006 - Jason attending 2 day Hands On course in Newquay regarding porcelain laminate veneers.

Jeremy studying for a Masters Degree in Implantology with Warwick University. This is a three year intensive programme due to be completed by December 2006.

Nikki studying for Level 4 Diploma in Management with the Chartered Management Institute.

January 2007 - Whole team complete Infection Control training day at Practice.

February 2007 - Whole team complete Fire Safety Training day at the Practice.

Nikki Completes ECDL – European Computer Driving Licence

March 2007 - Jeremy awarded Masters Degree in Implant Dentistry from Warwick Medical School.                     

Nikki completes Diploma in Business Management through Cornwall Business School.

April 2007 - Whole team attend annual CPR training day.

Jason begins Post Graduate Diploma in Restorative dentistry.

May 2007 - Whole team attends the bi-annual 3 day International Conference held by the ADI in Birmingham.

Sharon attends Dental Nurse Implant training weekend at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.

November 2007 - Chelly to sit her Dental Nursing examinations

March 2008 - Jason continues with Post-Graduate Diploma in Restorative Dentistry.

Jeremy continues with Diploma in Implant Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons Practice team embarks on 1 day Infection Control Training seminar.

Keri successfully completes SAAD Conscious Sedation Nurses certification course in London.

April 2008 - Jeremy and Sharon attend CODE AFA training weekend for Botulinum & Facial Aesthetics in London.

Jason Lectures at Postgraduate Centre at RCHT – Posterior Direct Resins.

May 2008 - Practice team embark on CPR training day.

Sharon studying for certificate in Dental radiography.

We have introduced a new porcelain system for our crown and bridgework for Implants and natural teeth click here to visit the Authentic website. This enables us to provide you with a more natural looking durable smile, with more scope for cosmetic improvement.

We have recently purchased the “Ostell” instrument, which electronically allows us to measure the degree of fusing of bone to the Implant. This is supported by many reviewed and published papers and enables us to assess with confidence the strength of the bond of your Implant to the supporting bone before placing the final crowns or bridges.
